Indian and German experts discussed the role of standardisation and conformity assessment at a workshop in New Delhi on 18 June 2019. As part of the event, the Global Project Quality Infrastructure (GPQI) India introduced the Indo-German Standardisation Dialogue within the Working Group on Quality Infrastructure.

Zur Vorbereitung der Jahrestreffen der Deutsch-Brasilianischen und der Deutsch-Mexikanischen Arbeitsgruppen Qualitätsinfrastruktur (AG QI) kamen Vertreter/-innen aus Unternehmen, Verbänden und QI-Institutionen am 18. Juni im Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi) zusammen.

Bundeswirtschaftsminister Altmaier und Minister Xiao, Leiter des chinesischen Staatlichen Zentralamts für Marktregulierung (SAMR), haben am 19. Juni in Peking eine Gemeinsame Absichtserklärung (MoU) zur Zusammenarbeit in der Qualitätsinfrastruktur (QI) unterzeichnet.

The event ‘Drive Forward Together’ was organised on 17 June 2019 in New Delhi by GIZ – the German Agency for International Cooperation – in collaboration with the German Embassy and the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). The event witnessed participation from around 80 government and industry representatives, who discussed the road ahead for Indo-German cooperation in the automotive sector.

India is one of the leading automotive manufacturing countries in the world with end-to-end capabilities for design, development and manufacturing of all kinds of vehicles. Ranked 6th in the world, it manufactures approximately 24 million vehicles of which 3.6 million vehicles are exported.

On Tuesday 18 June 2019 the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) is organising a workshop on standardisation and conformity assessment in cooperation with the Global Project Quality Infrastructure (GPQI) in New Delhi.
